In this show Ash & JW are joined by the Directors and Founders of Amber Electrical Mark Cossor & Scott Jones. Mark and Scott have been business partners in Amber Electrical for over 20 years and share their stories from apprentices, starting out and the growth over time as successful Tradie business owners.
We discuss their passion from a young age to own their own business, the experiences and learning they gained from the early days of Amber Electrical, the need to have a good capital base at the start as you build the brand and attract new business and the challenges and rewards in the growth phase. The importance of relationships and business development with their targeted customers and working with other Trades to get the best results whilst onsite.
We dig deeper into the things that they found really matter including “Know your Numbers”, Company Values owned by all employees, clear job descriptions, well documented workplace procedures, clarity in expectations, a good recruitment process and the importance in understanding and managing people.
We close out with some final tips and tricks and how they decided to build their business around SimPRO once they had grown and needed a business management system that simplified and automated their processes and reporting. They discuss in more detail how SimPRO has driven great results for them and their team once they implemented it to deliver greater productivity, job management, resource management and improving overall business performance.
